VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are a very important part of The Arc of Platte County. Below you will find a list of volunteer opportunities that are typically available. If you find one of interest, please provide your contact information below and list the programs you are interested in volunteering for!
Pals 'n Play Respite Days are held several times a year so that families can have a much needed break.  Volunteers are needed for various tasks.
  • Middle School, High School and College age volunteers are paired with children with developmental disabilities age 5-21 to assist them with planned activities
  • A volunteer nurse is always present
  • Adults provide supervision and assistance when needed

Summer Friends Special Needs Camp is held one week during the summer on Monday thru Thursday from 9:00 am to Noon. We conclude the week with a Talent Show/Family Night on Thursday evening. Volunteers are needed for various tasks.
  • Middle School, High School and College age volunteers are paired with children with developmental disabilities to assist them with planned activities
  • A volunteer nurse is always present
  • Adults provide supervision, assistance to volunteers when needed and craft/activity supervisors for planned activities
  • Kitchen crew to get snack ready each day
  • People with special talents to share!  For example: balloon animal makers, magicians, sports teams, cheerleaders, dance teams, people who can bring animals, music makers, etc. Every year we include several people and their talents in our activities.

People First is a self advocacy group of adults with developmental disabilities. We are looking for volunteers that can offer a fun & engaging activity for one of our monthly meetings. Our group loves learning new things and having fun! For example: crafts, safety, healthy lifestyles, self advocacy, independence, music, dancing, BINGO, etc.

Honey Sunday is The Arc's only major fundraiser of the year and is held on the first Sunday of November. We need volunteers to sell honey bears at local businesses, churches, to family & friends, etc. This is a great opportunity for school groups and youth groups!

    I would love to volunteer!

Please list programs you would like to volunteer for.
